Smailovic-Huart Violeta

Born 1970. in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), began studying the violin when she was three years old and had her first TV performance when she was five. At age of eleven, she had her first concert as a soloist accompanied by an orchestra.
Through the rest of her schooling, she was a student of renowned professors such as: Evgenija Tchugajeva, Pavel Vernikov, Emanuel Borok, Tamara Smirnova and Ilya Grubert. She graduated at the Arts Academy in Novi Sad when she was 19 and in the period from 1991 to 1997, Violeta completed four postgraduate studies earning the following diplomas: Diplome de Cycle de Perfectionemment (Conservatoire Nationale de Musique et de Dance de Paris, 1993), Diploma di Concertista (Academia Internationale di Musica Portogruaro, Venezia, 1993), Artist Certificate and Masters Degree Diploma (Meadows School of the Arts at SMU, Dallas, USA, 1997). She also attended master courses with: Viktor Tretjakov, Sergej Kravtchenko, Aaron Rosand, Boris Garlitsky, etc.

Smajlović-Huart has won numerous awards at international competitions (Sir Y. Menuhin Foundation “LIVE MUSIC NOW” in France, CNSMP Concour in Avignon, France, The Sasakawa Peace Foundation in Japan).

She has performed as a soloist in Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, France, Holland, Croatia, Italy, Japan, Macedonia, Germany, Russia, Slovenia, Serbia, Switzerland, the USA and Great Britain. She also performed as a soloist with numerous orchestras (Concertgebow Symphony Orchestra, Polish Chamber Orchestra, Orchestre de CNSM de Paris, RTV Zagreb Orchestra, Orchestre Philharmonique d’Avignon, etc.).

She is a full-time lecturer at master courses in Slovenia (Piran) and Croatia (Korčula, Hvar). Violeta works as an professor at the Music Academy in Split, Croatia, where she leads her own class.

She has been a permanent member of the SONEMUS Ensemble since 2001.
