GUITAR DAYS IN TUZLA

A three-day Guitar Days festival in Tuzla will celebrate thirty years of work of renowned music teacher Predrag Stankovic. 

He educated some of the world-famous guitarists such as Dejan Ivanovic and Denis Azabagic, or some of the young ones such as Boris Tesic and Sanel Redzic. These artists, all of them his former students, will play at the Guitar Days festival: Sanel Redzic will play Kabare theater on Thursday, May 28, at 7:30 pm, following by Boris Tesic at 8:30 pm. Denis Azabagic will play at BKC Friday, while Dejan Ivanovic will play at the Tuzla National Theater on May 30.       

Predrag Stankovic was born in Tuzla in 1949. He started playing guitar when he was thirteen, and took lessons with Ivan Kalcina and Mila Rakanovic. He started teaching in 1973 at Tuzla’s Dom Mladih. He has been teaching at the Tuzla Music School since its opening in 1979, as well as at the guitar department at the Tuzla’s High School of Music since 1991. He has taught more than a thousand kids, winning 102 awards, 25 of them at international competitions.   

This distinguished professor has won many prestigious awards, and has been a jury member at different competitions at home as well as abroad. Predrag Stankovic has established a youth art center in Tuzla in 1996 which prepare talented children for music education. He co-produced two albums for Sanel Redzic.
